I can think of various reasons why this might be desirable, but I found that it was also a bit in the way of things like the volume controls and simply holding the phone. This is a simple device and it does what it is supposed to do. The only thing I found a bit odd is that when plugged into the phone the wire point up along the side of the phone rather than down.
I have one on my kitchen radio, my car stereo, and one in my travel pack since so many hotels now have alarm clocks that you can plug your music player into. For the price, I thought I'd just buy three and never have to worry about bringing one in from the car.
Now I have to either buy the headphones that work with this phone, (which suck). I wasn't aware that a 2.5 mm plug was a charger size not a normal headphone plug size. That should have been made more clear. which would eliminate the need for this adapter, or buy another pair of headphones with the correct jack size to use with the adapter. I was hoping to use headphones I already have to listen to music from the phones mp3 player. They're apparently not 2.5mm.
I have a RazrV3xx, so don't know if the issue is specific to this phone, or others, too, but I won't be using it again. I couldn't just leave the headset attached to the phone because it would dial people without me knowing; luckily, it was mostly my wife, so she just heard my horrible singing. At the same time I bought this product, I also bought a Motorola OneTouch HS700 - Headset and have never experienced the same issue. I bought this product thinking that I could just plug-in one of my old hands-free devices from one of my retired phones so that I could ditch my bluetooth, which is now required in CA on the road. The connection worked well.until.when I left the phone unattended, with the headset connected, the phone would mysteriously jump to my 'Last Calls' and if still unattended, it would CALL my last dialed number. I don't know what/why/how this happens, but this happened to me many times.
I had purchased two 3.5mm to 2.5mm connectors to connect it to my car sterio which now just lie around at home. Thats when I figured they were not sterio connection. I wanted to use this with my car sterio, but it doesn't work. Only one side of the car speakers work.
